The Contributions of Arab Civilization to Mathematics and Science

This module is an introduction to the contributions of the Arab civilization to the realm of mathematics and the sciences (specifically medicine, chemistry, astronomy, and physics). The material presented in this module focuses around the fact that Arabic was the language of science and scholarship. The module explains how science, art and literature flourished and prospered under the Islamic Empire from the 7th to the 13th centuries A.D.; and it introduces specific Arab scholars that have made contributions to these fields.
